Jessica Stone

Jessica Stone is CGTN’s White House Correspondent, focusing on American politics, trade, economics as well as foreign and energy policy.

In 2013, she reported and produced CGTN's documentary, Oil Sands at a Crossroads, featuring the way international investment is impacted by the continental battle over building the Keystone XL Pipeline from Alberta, Canada to the American Gulf Coast. In 2016, she traveled to Puerto Rico to document the island’s fight against Zika amid its debt crisis. She also covered the presidential elections in 2012 and 2016 and the midterm elections of 2010 and 2014.

Prior to joining CGTN, Jessica was a freelance multimedia correspondent in the nation's capitol since 2007, working for CBS News and FOX News, USA Today, among others. In 2011, she provided live coverage of the debt ceiling deal on Capitol Hill to the nation's CBS affiliates. She also had a front-row seat at the Casey Anthony trial verdict in Orlando, Fla. as a correspondent for the nation's FOX affiliates.

In March, 2011, she accompanied President Barack Obama on his trip to Brazil for CGTN America. She also led the network's coverage of Chinese President Hu Jintao´s state visit in January 2011, offering hourly live reports from the White House and Chicago.

She has interviewed former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and former presidential candidates, including John Kerry, John Edwards, and John McCain. She has reported from the military commissions at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the 2010 earthquake aftermath in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and spent two months covering the war in Afghanistan in 2009. She is fluent in French.
