Starting out in the north of England Nathan worked on local papers and radio before moving to London to work for ITN Radio and TV - he then joined international production company Feature Story News in Washington DC as a correspondent before establishing the New York Bureau for FSN and became Bureau Chief- during his time as FSN. Nathan reported from New York and around the world for BBC, Channel News Asia, South African Broadcasting, France 24 and many other international networks.

He has worked as a correspondent in international news for nearly twenty years - He reported extensively on the attacks on 9/11 in New York, has covered 4 US Presidential elections, the earthquake in Haiti, war in Sudan and uprisings in Egypt and Libya. He also covered the United Nations for over a decade. He has a degree in international relations and a postgraduate in TV and Radio Journalism. At CGTN he has worked as a correspondent in Washington DC for the past 4 years covering US China relations - He had reported from Cuba he has also attended the RIMPAC naval exercises between the US and China in Hawaii and most recently followed the Donald Trump US presidential election campaign.
