China to send two giant pandas to US, highlighting 'bridge of friendship'

China announced on Friday that it will send a new pair of giant pandas, male Ping Ping and female Fu Shuang, to Zoo Atlanta as part of a 10-year international conservation cooperation agreement. The move continues more than two decades of "panda friendship" between the two countries, with Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun calling the giant panda "a bridge of friendship among peoples around the world."
