China to achieve greater tech self-reliance in 15th Five-Year Plan period

The 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026–2030) is a critical stage for China to achieve greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology and to build itself into a global sci-tech powerhouse, Yin Hejun, minister of science and technology, said at the Ministers' Corridor of the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress at the Great Hall of the People on Thursday. Yin outlined four priorities for the next five years, including strengthening high-quality sci-tech supply, enhancing the leading role of enterprises in innovation, promoting efficient transfer and application of sci-tech achievements, and supporting local pilot programs.
