Future industries need this 'sandwich biscuit'

Electric vehicles, humanoid robots and low-altitude aircraft – all need this "sandwich biscuit" axial flux motor, essentially a pancake with magnets. And China just made a breakthrough! On Friday, researchers unveiled a new magnetic material that makes these motors more powerful, more stable at high temperatures and cheaper to produce. From motors to massive ships: China set a new global record by delivering two 306,000-deadweight-tonne crude carriers at once. The country has also installed the world's largest offshore converter station, known as the "Heart of Offshore Wind."
