How technology and engineering can shape a sustainable future

How can technology help cities respond to people's needs before problems escalate? In CGTN's Hot Take series, three one-minute vertical videos explore how Beijing uses AI to identify recurring public complaints and tackle problems proactively, how AI assists operators at the city's 12345 hotline in handling requests more efficiently, and how 63,000 mirrors concentrate sunlight to generate electricity at a solar thermal project in Qinghai. Beyond these quick takes, an expert commentary examines why engineering capacity is essential to sustainable development, highlighting China's plan to train 10,000 engineers from developing countries over the next five years in transport infrastructure and information and communications technology.
