Elaine Reyes

General News Anchor

Elaine Reyes is a news anchor for CGTN based in Washington, DC. She is also the Host of “Americas Now” the network’s hour-long magazine program that focuses on social, economic and political issues in the Americas.

Elaine has conducted one-on-one interviews with President Enrique Pena Nieto of Mexico, former Chilean Presidents Sebastian Pinera and Ricardo Lagos along with several Foreign Ministers and Ambassadors. She also interviewed then-Texas Governor George W. Bush during the 2000 US Presidential Campaign as well as former US President Jimmy Carter.

She has covered all kinds of stories from natural disasters to sporting events and everything in between. Elaine joined CGTN from the NBC station in Washington, DC. She was also a reporter and anchor in Atlanta, Georgia and several other US television stations…covering major news events for American networks including MSNBC, FOX News, CBS, CNN and the Weather Channel.

Both the Southeast Chapter of National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and Georgia Associated Press have recognized her work. Elaine is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association and a graduate of AAJA’s Executive Leadership Program. She holds a degree in Journalism from the University of Georgia.
