Tian Wei

Tian Wei is China's leading anchor for international broadcast. She's a former Washington correspondent and named "Young Global Leader" by the World Economic Forum.

She's known for her fair, charming and lively interview style. Also, she's built a strong reputation for in-depth talk with newsmakers of the world: Hillary Clinton, Bill and Melinda Gates, Jack Ma, Yao Ming, Christine Lagarde, as well as UN secretary-generals, heads of states, global CEOS, Olympic champions, cultural icons and the biggest names from all walks of life.

As a moderator and speaker, she was invited to some of world's most important international forums: the World Economic Forum in Davos, the APEC CEO Forum, the Boao Forum, etc.

Tian Wei has received numerous awards, including China's National Journalism Award, National Award for International Broadcasters and CCTV Host of the Year.

She is actively involved with issues of human development, poverty alleviation, gender equity and global communication. She's China's National Ambassador for Mental Health and also honored by the United Nations Development Program as China Special Advisor.

Tian Wei started her career as a radio executive producer and host. She founded China's first foreign language radio talk show program. She was the only female correspondent from China in Washington DC from 2002 to 2004. From there, she covered the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
