Uche Okoronkwo

Uche Okoronkwo has been a rising star in Africa's business and financial news landscape as a young African, passionate about socio-economic development on the continent. She has spent her eight year career travelling across Africa uncovering major development initiatives and debating issues around business and current affairs in Africa. Working with major channels like Bloomberg TV Africa, CNBC Africa and BBC World as an anchor/presenter and producer, she has interviewed captains of industry, thought leaders, young entrepreneurs, top government officials and the man on the street on key issues that affect the future of continent.

Uche graduated with an MA in Business and Financial Journalism from Columbia University's prestigious school of journalism.

Uche worked as a reporter and anchor for CNBC Africa in Nairobi and Nigeria. She produced and presented a number of TV features that uncovered the massive development projects going on in these regions. She also anchored CNBC Africa's daily market shows, Open Exchange, Power Lunch West Africa and Closing Bell West Africa.

Uche joined Bloomberg TV Africa in 2013 as an anchor. She produced and presented the show African Women to Watch, and anchored the shows African Business Weekly, Game Changers Africa, Africa trending and Africa in Focus. She also led panels discussing key issues surrounding Africa’s markets, international trade and women’s issues.

She also presented two seasons of the show Horizons Africa, which airs on BBC World and Bloomberg TV.

Uche joined CGTN Africa in 2015 as a business anchor.
