Live updates: Israel reportedly to move on with Rafah ground operation
CGTN
SUMMARY

Israel is expected to "soon" begin evacuating civilians from Rafah ahead of a planned ground attack on Gaza's southernmost city, Israeli media reported.

The United Nations has warned that any ground operation in Rafah would have catastrophic consequences for civilians.

Israel's army announced on Thursday that the construction of a floating pier off Gaza's seashore has begun, intended to deliver desperately needed aid to the besieged Palestinian enclave.

The so-called Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore initiative, led by the United States Central Command, would create a temporary floating pier to deliver humanitarian aid from the sea into Gaza.

The Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Strip from ongoing Israeli attacks has risen to over 34,000 so far.
