The practice of "One Country, Two Systems" in Hong Kong has achieved accomplishments "recognized worldwide," Chinese President Xi Jinping said on a visit to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on Friday.
Secretary for Security Chris Tang Ping-keung of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region(HKSAR) said the National Security Law has helped return the city from "chaos to order," two years since the law came into effect.
Leung Chun-ying, vice-chairman of China's top political advisory body, as well as Hong Kong's former chief executive, said Hong Kong's democracy, along with its high level of autonomy, is spelled out clearly in the Basic Law and is as unique as the "One Country, Two Systems" principle. He made the statement in an interview with CGTN.
