CGTN Opinion is a platform for views and insights on issues that matter to China. It represents the CGTN brand - See the Difference - and prioritizes objectivity and readability. We welcome different voices and hope to provoke discussions that are rational, defined and influential.

Submit to CGTN Opinion:

If you want to submit an op-ed or send a Letter to the Editor, please contact us at opinions@cgtn.com. To submit cartoons and share story ideas or feedback on our cartoon page email us at cartoon_opinions@cgtn.com.

Guidelines for op-eds:

  • All submissions must be original, exclusive to CGTN, and should not have been submitted to, posted to or published by any other media.
  • Op-eds should be limited to 800 words. Please include sources for references made in your submission. Op-eds will be fact-checked and may be edited for clarity.
  • Please include a one-sentence author biography and a high-resolution profile photo to be posted on the CGTN website alongside your submission.
  • An op-ed ought to have a clear point of view or argument supported by specific evidence. We welcome submissions featuring compelling content and diversified viewpoints.
  • Please note that we do our best to read all contributions promptly. If you don't hear from us within five days, it's safe to assume we won't be able to use your op-ed.
  • We do not accept op-eds that are generated by artificial intelligence (AI). All submissions must be the result of the author’s own independent thinking, analysis and writing. AI tools may only be used for limited auxiliary purposes, such as language polishing or reference support, and must not replace original writing, reasoning, or judgment. The author is the first and primary party responsible for any op-ed submitted and published. By submitting an op-ed, the author confirms that the content is original and not generated by AI. Given the advanced cognitive capabilities of AI, editorial review may not always detect AI-generated content. If an op-ed is later verified or credibly reported to be AI-generated, the author shall bear full responsibility.
